Hanging spider plants, scientifically known as Chlorophytum comosum, are popular indoor plants known for their cascading green and white striped leaves. They have a distinctive appearance with arching stems that produce tiny white flowers and baby spider plant offsets, which dangle from the parent plant like spiderlings, hence their name. Spider plants are easy to care for, requiring moderate light and regular watering to thrive. They are excellent choices for hanging baskets or as trailing plants in indoor spaces.

Plant Care:

• Light: Spider plants prefer bright, indirect light. They can tolerate some degree of shade but do best with moderate to bright light conditions. Avoid direct sunlight, as it can scorch their leaves.

• Watering: Allow the top inch or so of the soil to dry out between waterings. Spider plants are fairly forgiving if you forget to water occasionally, but they don't like soggy soil. During the growing season (spring and summer), water more frequently, and reduce watering in the winter.

• Humidity: They can tolerate average indoor humidity levels, but they do appreciate occasional misting, especially in dry indoor environments.

• Temperature: Spider plants prefer temperatures between 60-75°F (16-24°C). They can tolerate slightly cooler temperatures but are sensitive to cold drafts.
